Tintwistle is a friendly, happy village school with four classes and around a hundred pupils. We moved from the old school next to the church into our new building in 2000 and now have modern facilities in a lovely school. We also have a playing field, adventure playground, wildlife area and vegetable garden. Our purpose built foundation stage unit was opened in October 2007 and from September 2014 we will be welcoming nursery children into school. We are very proud of our school and welcome visits from prospective pupils and parents.
Tintwistle is a Church of England (Aided) Primary School. The teaching of the Church of England strengthens the ethos of our school but all religions are respected and we welcome children and parents from all denominations. The school offers 17 places in the reception class each year; applications should be made online on the Derbyshire website www.derbyshire.gov.uk/admissions . Please see the admissions policy for further details.
