Curriculum Overview

The Early Years curriculum includes:
Prime Areas of Learning
  • Physical Development
  • Personal, Social and Emotional Development
  • Communication and Language Development
Specific Areas of Learning
  • Mathematics
  • Literacy
  • Understanding the World
  • Expressive Arts and Design
In addition we follow ‘Little Wandle letters and Sounds’ which support the development of communication and skills.
Topics are the starting point for learning and development in the EYFS curriculum. Each half term we plan a topic which provides starting points for activities to support children's play, learning and development. These are purely starting points which enable us to ensure curriculum coverage and plan exciting activities for your child. We consider your child's interests and development and tailor planning to meet observed needs and interests of the children.
